Research Directions
Bioinformatics
This enrollment major belongs to applied mathematics, focusing on developing new mathematical models and computational methods for biological macromolecules like proteins. Current emphasis includes using complex networks, graph theory, and statistics for multi-body protein interactions, as well as compressed sensing and machine learning for large molecular structure analysis.
Applied Mathematics
This major focuses on building new differential equation models to solve the disconnection problem in molecular biology across ensemble and individual scales. We are committed to creating mathematical bridges to merge these two scales.
Machine Learning
Focusing on constructing new machine learning and image recognition algorithms to solve challenges in multi-body protein interaction super-compound structures, as well as computation and prediction for autism and pancreatic tumors.
